David joined Navmatix to explore the exciting world of GNSS technologies and has found inspiration in the challenges and collaboration within the team. In this interview, he shares his experiences, goals, and the valuable lessons he’s learned during his internship. Let’s get to know more about his journey and aspirations!
1. Can you tell us about your job position at Navmatix and the main responsibilities you handle?
At Navmatix, I hold the position of Junior Developer, where I create programs covering computation and automatization of processes. My primary responsibilities include validation of computed results and writing algorithms that can easily process the data. Additionally, I handle avoiding possible errors in programs,
2. What aspect of your work at Navmatix do you enjoy the most? Why?
What I enjoy most about my work at Navmatix is the opportunity to solve complex problems from real situations. I find it incredibly rewarding to be part of a team that is constantly innovating and pushing boundaries in our industry. Specifically, I enjoy how our projects require creative problem-solving and collaboration.
3. What motivated you to join Navmatix as an intern?
I was motivated to join Navmatix because I was really impressed by the company's field of interests. I hadn’t even known about such a company before. I was really excited when hearing about GNSS solutions and all the science connected to that.
4. What are your long-term career goals, and how is your internship at Navmatix helping you achieve them?
I want to gain more knowledge about telecommunications and become a developer in the field of communication systems. At Navmatix I have a great opportunity to learn many things about GNSS technologies and to develop small solutions for that.
5. Is there a specific skill or knowledge area you’re excited to develop during your time here?
One specific skill I’m excited to develop during my time at Navmatix is fast learning of using new programming methods necessary for software development. I also find it interesting to compare the style of the code with similar ones that somebody else wrote before. This is also a very efficient way of learning.
6. How would you describe the team environment and company culture at Navmatix?
The team environment at Navmatix is incredibly collaborative and supportive. There’s a strong sense of openness, where everyone is encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and contribute, regardless of their experience level. The people here create a really positive and motivating atmosphere.
7. What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned from your colleagues so far?
There is always more than one way how to achieve the goal and none of them is absolutely correct, so you have to flexible and never stop thinking about the problem. It’s also important to discuss the solution with others. Those are the most valuable points I see at Navmatix.
8. What challenges have you faced during your internship at Navmatix, and how have you overcome them?
One challenge I faced during my internship at Navmatix was studying algorithms for computation of a position of GNSS receiver, which has a big complexity. Initially, I felt totally lost and it took me a lot of time to understand a tiny part of that. Based on that algorithm I could improve functionality of one of the programs we use for determining and precise position.
9. What are your plans for the future?
Firstly, I want to end grammar school successfully and then begin to study at university. I have always been planning to study electrotechnics and communication. During my studies I would like to broaden my knowledge of telecommunications and develop skills connected to that. And of course I wish to travel a lot and visit new places.
